Oceanside Glass & Tile was founded in 1992 with a boundless spirit of innovation, a fervor for the art of glass blowing and a new vision for the tile industry -- creating luxury glass tile using recycled bottle glass. The product collection has grown from 1/2" x 1/2" micro-mosaics to stunning 3-dimensional cast pieces as well as water-jet patterns that are taking glass tile design to an entirely new level.
Not many know this, but not all glass tile is created equal. Glass tile manufacturing is an art, but it should also be a science. Unsophisticated or primitive manufacturing techniques can result in product inconsistencies and defects. At Oceanside GLass & Tile, they take pride in their ability to combine precision engineering with state-of-the-art technology and handmade artistry. They also take added steps to ensure their glass is properly annealed - a controlled cooling process that relieves internal stresses created during the casting process.
In 2016, the world of glass appears to be on the brink of collapse. Manufacturers Spectrum Glass and Uroboros Glass announce closure resulting in devastation to the art glass world (including Oceanside Glass & Tile who utilized their glass in many product lines). With the spirit of fearless creativity and a hunger to keep the passion of glass alive, Oceanside Glass & Tile acquired the equipment, formulas, and IP from both companies. Over the course of a year, they retrofitted their existing glass factory in Tijuana, Mexico to include production lines for Spectrum and Uroboros glass, consolidating three distinct glass manufacturing process under one roof and opening the door for endless possibilities and incredible innovation.
