Tile Contractors' Association of America (TCAA) is an association of outstanding BAC signatory ceramic tile/stone installation contractors from all over the United States. Our mission is to promote industry excellence and ensure that installations are performed to the highest standards. We support this mission by education, training, advocacy and credentialing. The TCAA Trowel of Excellence contractor certification is recognized in the TCNA Handbook, MasterSpec and BSD SpecLink as evidence of a contractor's qualifications. In addition, the certified contractors criteria requires that their lead installers hold ACT installer certification in at least one skill area.
TCAA partners with the International Masonry Institute to host regional training programs open to architects and BAC-signatory contractors at no charge. These programs deliver technical information and offer opportunities for members of the design community, installation contractors and industry vendors to come together to share knowledge on new products, recommended installation practices and specification concerns.
TCAA also publishes a quarterly magazine, "093000 Contractor", that goes out to an audience of over 6,500 which includes architects, designers and contractors. This publication showcases outstanding installation projects, provides a venue for manufacturers to advertise their products, and delivers helpful information on technical, business, and labor issues that impact those who specify tile and those who install it.
