  • The Polish History Museum was designed by the WXCA architecture studio. Located in the Warsaw Citadel, the building is a true work of art.
Dimpomar provided the whole marble of this building. The grey hues of Portuguese Ruivina marble were used on all exterior facades and interior cladding. The six layers of more than 10.000m2 of cut-to-size marble facades hold a thousand years of Polish history carved in Portuguese marble: the darkest to lightest tones of Ruivina were chosen one by one, hand-selected from the quarry to the project.
The facade includes more than 1.000m2 of cut-to-size relief pieces: 11 different and highly complex relief types with different symbologies in reference to the years of history of Polish architecture - accomplished with the company's extensive CNC machinery and experienced craftsmen of our factory located in Portugal.
A total of 17,000m2 of natural marble in more than 10 different thicknesses and more than 12 different finishes, combined into 15,000 units of large pieces cut to size (more than 1.2m2/piece) duly referenced and delivered within a demanding deadline of 14 months. A bgreat challenge for Dimpomar!

Muzeum Historii Polski is a unique project that well exemplifies the importance of and the possibility of excellence that happens when prescribers, contractors and fabricators collaborate.

Portuguese natural stones’ superiority and dimpomar’s ability to procure and fabricate were key aspects whilst searching for the adequate material and supplier for this project. The Ruivina marble was selected also for its technical and mechanical properties (such as frost resistance), which were extensively lab tested.

The Polish History Museum was designed by WXCA architectural studio. Located at the Warsaw Citadel, Poland, the building itself is a true work of art, full of thoughtfull meanings which the Portuguese marble Ruivina brought to life.
Ruivina’s harmonious grey tone used in all exteriors facades and interior claddings reminds us of what is common. On the other hand, the unicity of each piece referrs to the individual dimension. The six layers of over 10.000m2 of cut-to-size marble facades hold a thousand years of Polish history carved into Portuguese marble: Ruivina’s darker to lighter shades and similar to distinct veining patterns were one-by-one-hand-picked selected from quarry to project – telling a story whilst provisioning a supply. The facade includes over 1.000m2 of relief cut-to-size pieces: 11 different and highly complexed relief-design-types with different symbology in reference to the Polish architecture years of history  - fulfilled with the company’s extensive CNC machinery and experienced craftsmen.

dimpomar’s involvement in this extraordinary project was both a great honor and a special challenge: a total of 17.000m2 of natural marble in more than 10 different thicknesses and over 12 different finishes, combined into 15.000 units of cut-to-size big pieces (more than 1,2m2/piece) duly refferenced and delivered within a 14 months demanding schedule.
