By submitting a product for the gallery, your company consents to the terms below.

Products must qualify as new as defined below:

A product qualifies as new if it is manufactured or exclusively distributed by a company and was introduced to the marketplace since April 8, 2022, the last day of Coverings 2022.

OFFICIAL RULES

Set forth below are a list of rules (the “Rules”) applicable to the Online New Product Gallery being sponsored by International Tile Exposition, a joint venture t/a Coverings (“Coverings”). By submitting any materials to Coverings for use with respect to the Online New Product Gallery (the “Materials”), you acknowledge and agree to each of the following terms:

You must be a Coverings 2023 exhibitor to enter new products in the Online New Product Gallery. If you submit more than one product into the online gallery, all rules below apply to all product entries.

“New” means the product must have been first sold at any level of distribution since April 8, 2022. All new product entries are subject to approval. Coverings reserves the right to remove/disqualify any product that it believes does not qualify as new.

The number of product submissions per exhibitor is limited to (7) seven.

There is no entry fee to submit a product for the Online New Product Gallery.

All submissions must be received by Monday, February 27, 2023.

The Online New Product Gallery will be available online on the website and mobile app.

Coverings may in its sole discretion elect not to include a product in its 2023 Online New Product Gallery.

You grant a perpetual royalty free license to Coverings for the use of the Materials as part of the Online New Product Gallery.

Coverings may make any stylistic edits to submission entries that it deems to be appropriate, in its commercially reasonable judgement.

Any legal dispute relating to these Rules or the Online New Product Gallery will be resolved by Arbitration in Arlington, Virginia before a single arbitrator under the Commercial Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association.

In no event shall the aggregate liability of Coverings to you with respect to the Online New Product Showcase exceed US $500.00.

In no event shall any joint venture member of Coverings have any direct liability to you with respect to the Online New Product Gallery with your recourse being limited solely to the assets of Coverings.

    The Sole 24 Ore also talked about it in an interview with CEO Gianluca Pellegrino: «We started by supplying basalt manhole covers to Rome. If you walk around the city you can still find some of them», says Gianluca Pellegrino, CEO of a company that, starting from a niche sector of Made in Italy, has reached a turnover of 10 million euros a year with 59 direct employees. «The current owners, the Tecchi family, have been at the center of the history of Basaltina Srl since 1925. Originally from Bagnoregio, Giuseppe Tecchi and his four sons have transformed the extraction and processing of Basaltina stone into a true art, preserving the artisan techniques and improving them over time through technological innovations».

    Pellegrino continues: «The company was founded on October 8, 1925 in Bagnoregio by Giuseppe Tecchi Cristofori Celiani, who on family land, and by acquiring the small neighboring quarries, created the current Basaltina Srl. The headquarters are in Rome, the quarry is in Bagnoregio with an adjoining sawmill and processing factory. We then have a processing laboratory in Ascoli Piceno and a direct distribution channel in Carrara». In 2025 the company will turn 100: «We are defining the details of the celebration but in the meantime we have obtained a very important recognition. The philatelic program for 2025 includes the issue of only four ordinary stamps belonging to the thematic series “The Excellence of the production system and Made in Italy” dedicated to companies on the centenary of the foundation. One of these is dedicated to Basaltina Srl». The outlook for the future remains positive. In 2024, Pellegrino emphasizes, «the exposure to orders and projects related to luxury fashion, which have suffered a slowdown due to the global economic situation, has generated a decline in turnover, but the first months of 2025 give us hope for a new long-term growth. Of course, we are a little worried about the unknown of possible US duties». The projects include the consolidation of the actions implemented on energy saving and sustainability. «We have a photovoltaic system in the pipeline by the end of the year and we are imagining, in the long term, the transformation of the quarry area into an extraction park, with the idea of ​​sharing a small theater and a museum area with the community. We have always been careful not to waste the territory's resources and to enhance its beauty. We are already recovering the water that Basaltina Srl uses for its production processes», concludes the CEO.
